old case fixd blade knive

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

old case fixd blade knive

Post by collcase »

I have an old case fixed blade that has what I can tell the words Little Valley NY, also has three letters before Case Cutlery. Is this one of the original knives made 1900 to 1912. Blade has been cleaned up so the first three letters are hard to make out, Jim Huff

A Simple photo will get you an answer . Stamps are stamps . The whole knife has the rest of the story . ::tu:: Joe

Definitely need photos. Case did not make fixed blade knives until about 1923. If it says Jean Case over Little Valley it was made by Kinfolks in the 1930s.
Jean Case knives were another Kinfolks brand and actually had nothing to do with Case Cutlery Co. Kinfolks did make all the fixed blade knives for W R Case & Sons from 1926-1932, but the Jean Case knives were not marketed by Case.

Nice old bird and trout knife, definitely Jean Case. Someone may have cleaned it up a little, causing the "J" to be faint. ::nod::

Welcome to AAPK!

What is the overall length of the knife? Any markings on the reverse side of the ricasso?

Based on what is shown, it looks like an M5 Finn. Nice knife in any case.
