Old Case knife photo
While cleaning out some drawers I found this old photo I haven't seen in at least 20 years.
It's part of a large Case knife display. I put it in a frame and hung it up.
I figured Y'all might like to see it.

Very cool, do you know what year? I see an old Bowtie in the group.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Looks like some of the displays on the walls in the halls at the Case factory. I think some that were recovered are back there now, at least they were when I visited there. And some are on display at the Zippo/Case Museum. Sadly, after Parker sold off the factory collection some were disassembled and the knives sold piecemeal.

I don't know the exact year but it's got to be at least from the forties.1967redrider wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 2:59 pm Very cool, do you know what year? I see an old Bowtie in the group.![]()

According to Price and Zalesky's book, the -51 Bowtie was made 1920-40.

Re: Old Case knife photo
Those photos are most likely copies of photos found in storage at the Case factory in the 1980's.
Those are several panels of a very large multi-panel Case Tested era display, 1920's to 1930's era, that in total had every pocket knife pattern that Case made at the time. I have digital copies of all of the photos and it is an amazing display. It was featured in several CCC newsletters in the 1980's.
There were many amazing photos of older displays, taken "back in the day". At some point SMKW had them reproduced and sold sets of some of the photos.

Re: Old Case knife photo
Thanks for jogging my memory on these.
Now I seem to remember that these photos came from SMKW.
I found seven more photos of old Case displays including the bullseye display that you recently bought.
I also have a photo of a single Case Barlow that looks to be either pearl or celluloid.
It has the Tested xx stamp, but I never have figured out why a photo was taken of a single knife.
Maybe it was a prototype.

Re: Old Case knife photo
If I can dig it out I'll upload it.
Edit:
Steve, I just located the manila envelope that the other photos were in but the Barlow photo isn't in it.
I've got the other seven photos in a large frame and I remember I didn't have enough room for it.
I must have put it somewhere but right now I can't find it. I'll keep looking.
