Custom Bolster Release Auto made by Doc Hagen. The handle material is splayed box elder burl. Doc liked unusual natural materials. I’m not sure but I may met him years ago at a North Star Blade Collectors show in Minneapolis that I attended with my husband.

I just received this handsome Boker split back whittler with custom antler scales from fellow member Reverand. I loads of character in this one! ::nod:: I think it will be next weeks carry!

Great looking antlers, great looking knife. I have been checking out Bokers and Bulldogs, wondering how they are compared to brands I know. That one makes me want to surf Bokers. Congrats on a beauty.

This 4", G.R. & S Solingen showed up this week. It has some light stains & pitting on the blades but nothing to worry about. Snap is good on both blades. No wobble. The chip & crack free bones are a delight to admire. It also has a very interesting stamp on the reverse side of the main blade. Looks to me like a Jokey hat and whip IMO. ::shrug:: I'm hoping someone out there can tell me more about it. I'm also curious about what you would call this pattern as I don't even know that. ::facepalm:: Altogether, a nice old knife. ::nod:: I'll be adding it to my EDC rotation for now..., may try to trade it for a 1972 Case some day if I ever get tired of it. ::hmm::

Thanks for looking friends & for any information you might wish to share with me. I'd appreciate it. ::nod:: ::handshake::

Add: Was trying to find out more about this knife & ran across some Solingen Stamps. Not really much information but someone might want to keep the link anyways. I'll lose it for sure. ::nod::

Don't know anything about the maker or the stamp but I know a thing or two about great looking bones like that one has. Gorgeous bone and jigging. Congrats, what a looker.

Beautiful blue swirl, great shield and that tribal lock is one of my fave blade profiles. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice one.

I have to say this Fox Nauta that just showed up is really a decent, well made, very well finished knife for the fifty nine smackers KSF is selling them for. I keep thinking how much the fit and finish BLOWS away the Case 54 Trapper I just bought recently. The Case had terrible fit and finish, one side micarta twice as thick as the other, run up is atrocious, gritty, dirty pivot etc. Not only that but it was ten bucks more than the Fox. Ten bucks more to get a terribly finished piece. The Fox Nauta has none of those issues, is very even and smooth and tight and better fitted together. Seems like a bargain to me for what you get compared to the Case IMHO and after handling them both I can't see myself buying another modern Case when comparing the two. And the micarta is not polished, it retains good traction.

I normally collect Ka-bars, but went to the local antique store with my daughter this morning, and the cellioud on this little guy caught my eye. Syracuse Knife Company, 3 inches long, pen knife. Great snap, no wobble.

I am way behind on posting new pickups...you would think after I retired I would have more time to do things I want to do... Picked this up from Jeff a week or so back Schrade 5OT impressive scales..I spoke to Jeff and he explains that on these small lockbacks its a balancing act to get the snap back and the locking button to operate in harmony. I am sure its not easy. He did well on this one.

Don’t know why I just had to have this knife. I must say I am impressed. I am not a tactical guy for the most part but the lines on this knife got my attention. It’s a Boker Magnum made in China, Brachyptera linerlock. Where they got that name is beyond me. The handles are G-10 with the blade made of 440B stainless steel. Sharp as a razor and flips open smoothly. Almost cut a finger closing it the first time, that blade is long and it’s easy to get a finger in the way. The blade centers perfectly and I can’t find a single flaw in the way it was built.
