Don’t know why I just had to have this knife. I must say I am impressed. I am not a tactical guy for the most part but the lines on this knife got my attention. It’s a Boker Magnum made in China, Brachyptera linerlock. Where they got that name is beyond me. The handles are G-10 with the blade made of 440B stainless steel. Sharp as a razor and flips open smoothly. Almost cut a finger closing it the first time, that blade is long and it’s easy to get a finger in the way. The blade centers perfectly and I can’t find a single flaw in the way it was built.
Apparently, Bracyptera is a genus of stonefly found in Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa. I don't see any reasoning for the name .

I'm happy to see you pulled the trigger for this knife Mark. I've only ever seen online pictures and I was impressed, but to see your crystal clear shots makes the knife that much more attractive. And I know why you had to have the knife, it's because it's GORGEOUS! Definitely my kindda knife! Congrats bud! 8)

just picked up this extremely rare KUTMASTER marlin spike.
the blade is in rough condition with many scratches, I did not polish or work on the blade because I was concerned about removing the logo.
It's very possible this knife was made by Camillus, however I need to do more research to be sure.

I am glad you like it, Steamboat! I am half ashamed of the poor fit of those handles - I wasn't ready to work with antler at the time. Still, it needs to be used, and I am glad that you will be the one using it!

The Ponder Post Rider brought these two to me today.
They're not a LAGUIOLE, I think they're DKC but I'm not really sure.

Got this one in the mail today.
It's an Otter-Messer "Beekeeper's" knife. Now why is it named that, I have no clue.

David,
Now, that is a handsome knife in a pattern I really like. Single spear blade and wood handles. ::tu::

Thank you Ray and Phil. I like it but with all that brass it's a heavy knife. The description is Sea Buckthorn wood handles. I have never heard that name.

To be honest, I prefer nickel silver over brass. Since I started selling, I have learned that brass always needs polishing.
I have come to be appreciative of the spear blade. I nearly always carried a stockman pattern but in retirement I need a knife a lot less and a single spear blade is by far my favorite.

I agree Ray, most of the knives I carry are single blade knives. I always thought that type of blade looked too big, but I like it a lot more now days.

Wasn’t the mailman but Big Brown delivered this today.
Custom Bolster Release Auto made by Doc Hagen. The handle material is splayed box elder burl. Doc liked unusual natural materials. I’m not sure but I may met him years ago at a North Star Blade Collectors show in Minneapolis that I attended with my husband.

Wow, Boji, that’s a really fancy knife!
That one wouldn’t fit an old Southern redneck’s pocket, it would need to be carried by a real gentleman. :)
Those handles really make it stand out. ::tu::

Thanks, the unusual handle material is what caught my eye. And I didn't have a true bolster release in my small collection.

Boji, That is a beautiful knife. I imagine that’s a keeper and not one you got for resale. Congratulations on an awesome knife.
