As most of you, with interest in these knives, probably know by now. Gil Cooper, who owns the old Queen Factory machinery, has also registered trademarks for: Schatt & Morgan, Battle Axe, Beaver Falls, Big Chief, Weed & Co. and Clyde Cutlery.
He has only 4 employees and they produce all knives by hand in Winchester OH. Hence, the small runs and slow releases.
Mr. Cooper is intent on bringing top quality Schatt & Morgan knives to market rivaling GEC and the old S&M quality using traditional patterns and handles.
His first release (Weed & Co) was intended to 'practice' and get feedback as well as experience. I think that is why the pot leaf was used, so no one would take it too seriously.
At the 85 dollar release price (what I paid) was reasonable to me just to own a piece of history in the making.
The Battle Axe knives are a step up from the Weed knives, which (from my experience) were of general recent Case quality, if not better.
I look forward to the Schatt and Morgan knives when Gil thinks he has the quality where he wants it.

Please - show me a Case box that states that in those words. The implication is that Case is using both foreign and domestic parts. Not saying that you're wrong, perhaps you are correct, but I personally have never heard of Case using foreign made parts, nor have I seen that stated on their boxes.

But again, you may be right, I would just like to see it.

I apologize the wording was incorrect. I should have said Imported instead of foreign.

What's the label say on the pictured box? IIRC that statement may have been on the Mini-Blackhorn, possibly another lower cost Case pattern, but it's not what "all Modern Case knives state on their boxes". Maybe your use of "modern" is referring to "tactical" patterns? It's certainly not on the boxes of any recently made traditional patterns (like the OP "Weed" trapper) I've seen.

Here's some pictures, 5 1/4" and 4" closed. Throwing in a Hickey & Shouse just for fun. Plenty of walk & talk in these knives, good centering when closed, no bone or stag issues and the shields were fitted spot on. Mirror polished and I love the etches, which seem pretty durable. I would say at least Fight'N Rooster quality without the celluloid issues, if you're looking for a comparison. Just my 2¢.

Yes, and hopefully when they release their Schatt & Morgan line they will be of the quality that we were all hoping for and anticipating.

When Cutlery Corner was selling these close to the $200 price point, I think they were smoking something.

But around $100 seems about right, as long as the fit and finish are there. Just my 2¢.

I sell them for that no tax but $5 for shipping in USA… stags are gone, so the Buffalo horn and stag if I could get them would be $90 plus $5 shipping same with hunter model..

(After the introductory 1/100) the first 1/100 sell for $85-$90 and $105 for stag, looks like the standard knives will be $60 for the trapper/hunter bone..and the trapper/hunter stag or Buffalo horn $70. From the pics I see no difference between first 1/100 to the standard run other than Certifications of 1/100 But will know when I start getting them. As of now all are in stock Red, Green, White Bone in trapper and hunter. Stag and Buffalo Horn in trapper and hunter.
I’m sure they will be equally if not better than the initial 1/100 and I think they were impressive, I hope to have a few in hand by end of next week.

Impressive prices as well. I don't think any other American company has a stag-handled large frame knife for $70. Occasionally, I have seen stag Bears on sale for that, but it's rare (and quite often, they're really just stag pattern bone).

Well it looks like a got a few battle axe coming in stag…..both trapper and hunter. Also have some standard bone coming also.

Why have a MSRP of $380 and then sell them for $150? This WEED & CO GOLF TRAPPER... is it even a really a knife? ... I don't think so... and the prices on the Weed & Co. they seem to just keep getting higher and higher ... and maybe the people pricing them too...
