You would think if they are made in the USA they would be stamped USA.
They also seem overpriced to me.

Re: Weed & Co.
I don't like to be negative here, or sound whiny. I saw these the other day, looking at some of the first new Schatt and Morgans, and my answer was, quite honestly, "What in the heck?!!!". And was the guy who set the prices stoned himself at the time?
The subject matter chosen is somewhat controversial; and more suited to cheap POS knives; not knives that outprice GECs and at MSRP are getting into high-end custom knife money (at $400, I'm buying a Randall!). These are knives that would look quite good with more generic (and family-friendly) shields, etches, and tang stamps. Especially if these are the only line being produced by this hitherto unknown maker.
And are these, truly, American-made knives? They look like something from Frost to me.

Appreciate your replies, not my cup o' tea either but I bet some collectors are buying them. I agree, usually this motif has tweeker appeal.

I think I will too. Why have a MSRP of $390 and then sell them for $185? And if made in USA, why are they not marked?

With lame-o knives like these at nosebleed prices, the site should be called Cutlery Coronary...one look at the prices and...well, you get the idea.

According to Goins, Weed & Co. was a hardware wholesale/retail house in Buffalo NY from 1818-1923. I doubt George and Thaddeus Weed were also into hemp derivatives, but who can say? These knives seem like another appropriation of an old and venerable name for someone's quick profit.

Thanks for that info! I figured it was pure marketing for their target buyers, good to know there's some historic knife maker reference. It would be nice to see an original knife stamp from back then.
Edit* Just found the same information in Levine's 4th.

With SMKW and Frost, I've been seeing a lot of old name; either they bought it (i.e. Queen, Remington in very recent history) or hasn't been used in so long it's public domain--slap it on cheap knife=$$$$
I want to say I saw some Frost Rodgers knives. Given Egginton still owns the Joseph Rodgers trademark and produces knives using the brand (albeit not so easily found in the US anymore), I guess Frost was sued by Egginton, and the knives taken off the market as I used to see them a lot on eBay a couple years back, and now they are no more.

I also saw these while checking out the new S&M knives. I found both to be priced pretty high, especially compared to a known quantity like GEC or Case.

Re: Weed & Co.
Just a little bit of information in these.
They were not made by Queen. They are being made in Winchester Ohio by Cooper Cutlery. They are stamped Winchester Ohio on the backs of each tang. These were produced in 2021. Parts were sourced with foreign and domestic parts. All parts assembled in USA. Much the same as all Modern Case knives state on their boxes. They come new in tubes with warranty information as well as information on each knife.
Hope this clears some things up.

I just bought one from Eagle Creek Cutlery from Jon Paul, he sells all kinds of knives. He said it’s his hottest selling knife, and they didn’t make many. I personally like it better than my case knife

Much like most GECs, I'm probably missing this train.
If I was a betting man, I'd put $5 down on Ryan Daniels having something to do with these.

So what's the inside scoop on these, Matt? If you don't mind me asking? Cutlery Corner said on aire they were made at the old Queen factory. I can old go by what I hear or read. Thanks.

Cutlery Corner made a mistake on their information. They are being made USING the old Queen Dies and Machines that we purchased from the Queen Factory when they closed their doors. They have absolutely NO other correlation with Queen other than using their old tooling/machines/dies etc. They are being made with imported and domestic parts in Winchester Ohio in the USA. Cooper Cutlery owns the trademarks. The Daniels Family are not involved with these knives at all.

Re: Weed & Co.
Please - show me a Case box that states that in those words. The implication is that Case is using both foreign and domestic parts. Not saying that you're wrong, perhaps you are correct, but I personally have never heard of Case using foreign made parts, nor have I seen that stated on their boxes.Parts were sourced with foreign and domestic parts. All parts assembled in USA. Much the same as all Modern Case knives state on their boxes.
But again, you may be right, I would just like to see it.

What's the label say on the pictured box? IIRC that statement may have been on the Mini-Blackhorn, possibly another lower cost Case pattern, but it's not what "all Modern Case knives state on their boxes". Maybe your use of "modern" is referring to "tactical" patterns?Rockstars Artifacts wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 5:49 amI apologize the wording was incorrect. “All” was a poor choice of words. I’m not sure which knife goes with the box in the picture. It may be a tactical folder or something that is only sold in California. My intention was only to pass on the information about the weed and company knives and I should have stayed on track.Mumbleypeg wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 6:11 amWhat's the label say on the pictured box?
