Winchester Split Backspring Whittler Buffalo Shield Series Burnt Orange Winchester Jigged Bone 1997
From a recent 13 piece Winchester collection purchased from a fellow AAPK member. This is a beautiful split backspring whittler made by or for Blue Grass Cutlery, it's difficult to know if Queen made these or supplied the components. This was made in 1997. The scales are burnt orange Winchester jigged bone that is chip and crack free. The blades have not been used or resharpened and retain their factory edges. Measures 3 3/4" closed OAL. Good snap and no wobble or play. The main blade pull is 7 or 8 and that is by design, the split backspring design puts the pressure of two backsprings onto the main blade to keep it open in use. The other two blades have a pull that is more like a 4 or 5. Comes with the original box and warranty paperwork. Free shipping within the USA.
