Black Box Winchester – 1989 Doctors Knife – W15 2978 - Jigged Bone
Black Box Winchester knife made by Queen in Titusville, PA. Made in 1989. Doctors Knife pattern W15 2978, release # 18 of the series. There were 2457 of these knives made in this run. Measures 3 1/4 inch closed. 2 blades on 2 springs. Old Rogers jigged bone handles. Nickel silver bolsters, brass liners, carbon steel blades, and nickel silver federal shield.
This knife has half stops on both blades. It comes with the original box. All blades have the Winchester tang stamp, and the main blade has the Winchester Trade Mark blade etch. The handles are in flawless condition with no defects. The knife is unused and unsharpened. The blades have good snap both open and closed, and no wobble.
*The carbon blades on this knife have started to develop some black spots which are visible in the photos.
