Made in America!

Remington is commonly thought of as a firearms manufacturer; and rightly so. Since it's founding in 1816, it boasts the title of "Americas Oldest Gun Maker". But Remington also has a rich history of knife making. Up until the First World War, the finest steel and blades came from England and Germany. Following WW1, the industry took a massive hit in global markets. And demand arose for American manufacturers to step in. Remington started producing knives in 1920, just over 100 years after its founding. Shortly after that, America found itself in the grips of the Great Depression. Remington was forced to sell off its cutlery division to DuPont, who later sold it to Pal Cutlery just before the US entered WW2. During this short domination of the American cutlery market, Remington produced some of the most highly collectible pocket knives of the new era; including their Official Boy Scout knives and the highly sought after Bullet Knives. Over the years, there have been several, highly collectible, special orders and limited runs produced by other American knife makers, such as the reproduction of the Bullet Knife Series.

This knife is the R1253 "Guide" Bullet Knife, produced in 1992. It has brown jigged delrin scales. No chips or cracks. The blade is approx 4 1/8" satin finished stainless steel clip, with a nice swedge grind. It has a factory edge with "Remington" blade etch. The blade has good snap on close and lockback on open. No wobble or play. Never used, carried or sharpened. Brass liners. Nickel silver fluted bolsters, handle pins, and Remington Bullet shield. Approx 5 3/8" OAL closed. New in box.

*I have no idea why some pictures are inverted... This will not affect the orientation of the knife. :)

**Note: I am new to knife collecting and selling. All descriptions are to the best of my knowledge and in an attempt to be as honest and forthright as possible in regards to knife condition. I have conducted hours upon hours of research on each individual knife that comes into my possession in an attempt to set a fair price.
