Remington UMC
I have a knife that was my grandfather's. It has Remington UMC in a circle on the long blade and Made in U.S.A. around the circle. On the back of the blade it has RB43. Can anyone tell me anything about this knife?

Remington Collector would be the expert on this subject,
but in my books it is listed as a Barlow, says white bone handle (does yours fit this description?)
and would book in mint condition at $160-$225
That is coming out of 2 different price guides.

What you have is a Remington Barlow pattern. The main blade should be a spear and the secondary blade a pen. It should also have smooth bone handles. It was made somewhere between 1924 and 1940. In 1938 the knife sold new for 50 cents. In mint condtion this knife will bring around $250 . Even with moderate wear they will sometimes sell for around $100 or so. It was a well made high quality knife that was designed to be used, and unfortunetely most of the Remington barlow patterns I encounter have been used very much. If you want to post a couple of pictures, we can narrow down the production date and give a more precise value range.
