Camillus age.

Post by skoal »

Can anybody give me an approximate date range
for this knife?
The number 7 with Pat. Pend. is stamped on the
back of the blade. The button on the front slides
forward to lock the blade open.
It's called a Cam-Lock.

Thanks for any information. ::tu::

::welcome::
I have the same knife! Or one just like it... :lol: It came with a sheath and a leather thong. Nice!
But when did I buy it..? My guess is around 1990.
One should keep records… ::tired:: :oops:

found reference to sword brand for camillus beginning in 1942. found #7 cam-locks in catalogs from 70s. one said discontinued in the 1973 catalog. maybe camco will stop by with more accurate info.

Thank you all, for the information. I have the leather sheath also.
I thought this knife was from the 70's, it was used when I bought it.
I like the idea of a slip joint that you can lock when needed. :D

Here is mine.
Some really dark clouds over head today and the pics were not so good, but it's a nice Camillus.
Probably some 20 years old. :)
