are $350-$550????? I have a tb sowbelly, it was also @$70. The girl at shepherd
hills said the diff was handle material

They are not comparable.

The pocket hunter, sowbelly, swayback, may be missing another; are Case standard production made on the production line like all other knives. They were only patterns that are attributed to Tony.

The Tony Bose Collaboration knives are knives made by special process specifically to Tony's specifications in low numbers. They are as near perfect as you can get in a factory knife.

Thanks for the response Tony. Can you tell us what mfg. procedure results in the Case/Bose collaboration knives? Do you design/oversee/inspect them, or other? Just curious on what the difference is in the collaboration knives and these. The collaborations look like real good knives. I especially like the slimline trapper. I've looked around and on the Case website (and I can't even find any listing of the collaboration knives there), and I can't find any information on what the collaboration involves.

Seems like the sellers are not exactly doing false advertising on the two listings I posted, but I am gathering that they are a different breed than the collaboration knives.

The collaboration knives are much higher quality and limited numbers. They are deep cryo heat treated ATS34 and all stainless frames and bolsters with pined on shields after the 2nd year. Most of them have a bushing in the pivot and they are made to be work horses. I know several people that carry and use them. They will perform. All of these are made in the proto shop by 3 men. I have went there and helped them get started on the lockback whittler. All the parts are EDM wire cut from prototypes that I make so what they end up with is very close to what I send them. Try one, you'll like it. The Case-Bose collaboration knives are very close to a custom knife with custom features. They have stainless steel bolsters and liners as well as a pinned on stainless shield. It also has a releif pocket milled on the inside of the liners for the tang to rest in when closed so they won't be scratched.

When we decide what we are going to make i make 2 knives just alike. One is a finished knife for QC and the other is the same but can be taken apart. They take this knife apart and have a precision scan done on the parts. From this they make a program for an EDM wire cut machine. These cut the parts to within 2 ten thousands of an inch so what they end up with is very close to what I send them. The blades and springs are deep cryo heat treated ATS 34 with high wear resistance and will cut for a long time before sharpening. I'm very proud of how well they make these. I would like to see every one going to work. Before anyone says too expensive I'll remind you that people will give 30 to 40 thousand dollars for a new car or truck and drive it every day. Try one.

This is an area that has been an interest of mine and I'm finally doing something about it. I get it done - not always in a timely manner though. Just too much I want to do and not enough time. NOW there is a DVD to explain it all and well - lots of tips in this one.

I bought the DVD by Don Robinson The Locking Liner with Don Robinson and would have to say it is one of the best I've watched. It's about 4 HRS long and it shows you how to make a PRECISION FOLDER, you can just omit the liner locking part to make it more like a slip joint.

Don shows how to make this knife with titanium liners (really any traditional liner metal can be used) and he uses a .125 pivot pin, 2-56 screws and a phosphorous-bronze bushing that is .125 ID and a .1875 OD.

I don't have the machines he uses (Metal Lathe and Mill) to make the precision parts, but I have located several sources for premade parts. Anyway, the parts are on their way.

I give this DVD my highest rating if this is the style of knife you are looking for. I have no assoaciation with the makers and don't make anything from this recommendation.
