New here..A question about American Cutlery knives

Post by CarlM »

I think I goofed up and ask this in the wrong forum so I will ask here.
Are these American Cutlery knives really hand made in TN. The dealer says they are. I bought a couple and they look pretty good. Thanks, carl

Hi CarlM. Belated welcome to the site  Don't know :? but there is a series of postings on American Cutlery on page 2 of the General Discussion board. There is likely some information there that will help you. You need to get yourself a little avatar to go with your postings. Enjoy ::tu:: s-k

There is at least one Ebay seller that advertises these knives as not only being "hand made in Memphis, Tennessee"....but also "hand forged" of 440 stainless.

The same seller has a lot of seven of them, new in boxes for $45.00 total.

Seems a bit far fetched that these could be made in the USA by some new startup knife company.......

I'm with knifeaholic on the cost.
At those prices, I'm betting the components are made offshore, and then the knives are assembled/finished/hafted in Tenn. Sort of like Queen and a couple other companies have worked out.

Actually at those prices, I cant even imagine that ANY of the work is done here in the US, even wrapping and packaging. Would be interesting to know who is behind them though....
