Schrade old time double blade

Had this knife for many years but its too thick and heavy for EDC. Wondering if one of the blades and section could be removed to thin it out and lighten it?

I bought the same knife new about 1971 and still have it.

The quick answer is yes but since its manufacturer is out of business you'd have to use a small time knife mechanic. I can not find it but there is a list of knife mechanics who use AAPK some where. The best I can do in the time I've got is give you a link to Bill DeShives who I know is on that list. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... le&u=15108 Its blade pivot pin does not extend through the bolsters making it harder than doing a U.S. made Camillus, Buck or Case. My guess is you'll decide that buying a different knife or trading it is more cost effective.

Welcome to AAPK!
Your 225OT looks to be in great condition. Schrade also made a single blade on that frame, a 125OT. Just my thought, you might be able to trade your knife for a single blade and not have to destroy the 225 unless that particular knife has a special place in your life.
All sorts of possibilities, bottom line your knife, your choice.
