Hi, new here on the forum. I was given an old Schrade switchblade by a friend who found out I collect knives. The knife he gave me was his grandfathers knife. He is in his 70s so his grandfather is long gone. He said his grandfather worked on a cattle ranch in Wyoming as a young man and this was his knife. I have attached a few pictures. The knife says G.Schrade B'Port CT, on one side, and Presto, Pat Pend-G on the other. The handle appears to be bone or antler. It is a single blade push button auto. Doing a little research it seems like it might be a WWII Paratrooper knife. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I intend to keep it in my collection, but would like to know more about it. I want to try and clean it up a little, but don't want to do anything to damage it. It is fully functional.
Thanks!

Great looking knife, I wouldn't do more than oil it.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Hi, your knife is correctly marked and very well could be a M2 jump knife. These were issued to the 82nd airborne in ww2. Typically kept in a small pocket on the breast of their jacket with a lanyard attached for easy access.

This model was also commercially available, but most did not have the bail.
