Evaporust and Wood

Evening all. I have a knife that has some rust on it that I'd like Evaporust to remove. It has wood covers on it though. This is an older knife but the rust is pitting on the back spring. I did a search in this forum and one person mentions that they have had little to no swelling on the wood when using it. Anyone else tried Evaporust with wood? I am thinking it would be safe to use with a very short soak. Thank you!

Shouldn't be a problem. I've soaked a couple hammers that were pretty rusty, and it didn't hurt the wood at all.

Best I can tell, Evaporust is one of the few things that works effectively, but doesn't eat into materials like vinegar.

Thank you Cody. I may throw it in tomorrow morning for a little bit at a time to see what happens. Sometimes I get a little ocd about pitting rust so I want it completely gone. Much appreciate the reply.
