Hubertus springer lasted a week

Post by Metalman5252 »

I just purchased my first automatic knife and it isn't going well. I've had it a little over a week and it will not close. The knife opens fine and locks up tightly. It remains about 30 degrees open or will not close the last 30 degrees. It appears that there is not a stateside warranty service. The knife is a hubertus springer HB 68.110.HH.10. I'm not sure what the problem is as nothing visually is wrong and am not familiar with the internal mechanism. Any ideas are appreciated or suggestions as to a repair service familiar with this type of knife.
Thank you

With out being able to see it, it sounds like the kick spring has slipped out of place. There are videos explaining how to install or remove that spring on YouTube.

Don’t force it to close or you risk breaking the kick spring or back spring.

You can also have some one who fixes these things for money help you. The better way to install the kick spring is to take the knife apart a little bit and stake the spring in place. That will keep it from doing this again.

Thank you for the reply.
I'll look for the videos and see if they help.
