Does anyone know this knife maker (M L W) and or how much its worth?

Hey guys, I got this knife from a friend. He told me he got it in the USA and that it's about 40 or 50 years old. Can anyone tell me more about this knife?

(Edit: he told me that he drove trough „zabriskie point“ and than bought it there and that it’s handmade)
