Cracked Ice

Post by Don L59 »

Beautiful scales on this A.G. Russell 1991 made in Germany pocket knife. Anybody else have any examples of cracked ice scales on a pocket knife?

This is a muskrat style double blade pocket knife. Same size blades.

That looks like maybe a modern acrylic "cracked ice", it is not similar to the often used celluloid "cracked ice" found on old knives.

I agree. That must be some type of modern acrylic “cracked ice”. Doesn’t resemble any celluloid cracked ice I have seen, but I like it.

Here’s some old celluloid cracked ice for comparison.

It says 1991 on the blade. So you are correct. It’s modern. It’s a beautiful looking muskrat.
