German Folding Bracket Closure
Been collecting these Klappbügel-Messer (folding bracket closure) style knifes for some time. Just scored this one off of eBay for a decent price. A hefty and solidly built knife. Anyone else collect these?

It certainly is a good looking knife. Show us pics of your other ones if you have the time.ScottShiraki wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 3:35 am IMG_9219.jpeg

Thanks man, it’s been years of collecting these. They don’t surface too often and the wood handled ones are generally very old and beat up. The Otter one is new and solidly built. The Bulldogs are super high quality builds

Re: German Folding Bracket Closure
A German knife collecting buddy explained that to me. Also called Kipphebel (rocker arm) and also Notschlachter" - Emergency Slaughter, but I believe that last term can mean that shape of knife with lockback blade, not necessarily one with the bracket closure.
Would love to see yours if you get a chance!

Collecting knives that look similar doesn't bother us.
