Anyone familiar with this gentleman’s jack knife?

Hello all

I’m new here to the forum. I’m trying to help a friend ID a penknife from his late father in law’s estate.

I was hoping someone could help.

I believe it is sterling silver, other than the word sterling no tang stamp was observed these are the only two pictures I have.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

Welcome to AAPK! What you have is a ladies fruit knife. They were a proper gift for a woman in the 19th and early 20th century. They used silver so it wouldnt leave a metallic taste when the fruit was cut and the acids in the fruit wouldnt damage the blade. The pointed tool is a seed pick. Hard to determine who made it, but it looks like a nice one. There are books available on them.
