I don't think that's a genuine Microtech. The blade looks like a Microtech "Hellhound" design, but I don't believe Microtech ever used that handle design. However, that handle design is very common on Chinese OTF's.
And I don't believe Microtech ever used that box design.
I believe the knife is Chinese.
Here's a similar Chinese OTF imitation "Hellhound"-

Thank you sir. I appreciate your comments. It's a cool piece either way and I appreciate the gift from my church friend. It shoots out like a Mack Truck and shoots back in the same. Thanks again for your analysis of the knife.Killgar wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 10:41 pm I don't think that's a genuine Microtech. You're welcome, even though I never like to give bad news.woodwalker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 10:47 pm

However, even Chinese switchblades can be fun, and they can still cut stuff. And a gift is always a nice thing

Many thanks, KG, I am dealing with health problems that make typing very difficult, so I'm just dropping by now and again with a status report. It looks like I won't be able to fully participate til eye surgery is done 9 months from now. All the best to you for the holidays, buddy!![]()

Unfortunately many autos are now made in China. It ruined the value of the originals and tarnished the reputation of the knives. Sad because some people use to be against China imports but now they support the communists.CountryBoy77 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 04, 2026 11:48 pm Box is wrong and knife is wrong.Chain counterfeit. The problem is when these knives get sold by and to people who don't know for exhortation price

Yes it's Convenient Patriotism.I think Microtech is grossly oapup pa900àa0verpriced,but I won't buy the counterfeit because I want a Cheap one.I buy elsewhere.Italy is not America but I still don't want a Chinese knife posing as italian.I was suspect when they contracted parts to China for cheaper manufacture then assemble Italy or here and it's American Made when it's really American assembled.Even switchblades many come here in parts for distributors to assemble ,next thing you get new knives that are banana blade or dented bolsters( ever get a Frank Beltrame from Perry Knifeworks!? )BestVintageKnives wrote: ↑Sun Jan 04, 2026 11:52 pmUnfortunately many autos are now made in China.
