Ruana model help

Post by Firechief501 »

Good morning , I apologize if I posted this in the wrong category . I just picked up this Ruana yesterday from an old friend , and it’s the first Ruana I’ve ever owned . I’m having a bit of trouble identifying the actual model . It looks like a 27c , but the blade length is throwing me off . Overall it measures 11 3/4 “ , with a blade length of 7 1/4” . It didn’t appear as though it’s ever been used or sharpened . Another thing throwing me off is the blade appearance near the finger guard . Most Ruana knives I see on online are notched just above the finger guard on the ricasso , this one is not notched . I included a sample picture of what I’m talking about and circled the difference for reference . Was this knife a custom ordered knife by chance ? Or is it a specific common model that I’m just not finding? There is no model number stamped anywhere on this knife . Any and all help would be great , thank you in advance!

You can always get more money, good old knives are hard to find.

Nature abhors a vacuum, me I hate a dull knife.
