Case Tested Tang Stamp

Does anyone know what patterns this particular tang stamp was used on in the Tested era? Or was it used on most larger folders during a certain time period of production? I see it most often on Tested era single blade folding Hunters. The below picture is one I found on the web, could be from a Case Classic.

Most references date the stamp to 1920-1940, IMHO erroneously. (Those dates although widely published are based only on speculation - no known factory documentation exists). According to the tang stamps section in Counterfeiting Antique Cutlery by Witcher it dates to 1932-1940 and was “typically used on large folding hunter and coke bottle patterns”. In his article about Case fixed blades in Sargent’s, 7th edition, Brad Wood says in his observation it was used on the rear-side tangs of fixed blades stamped (on the front side) with names, “such as: BOONE, CARSON, CENTO, CODY, EXPERT, SCOUT, and X-PERT”. He says he has only seen it on fixed blades that were not chromed (meaning pre-1934).

I don’t keep up with all the stamps that were used on Parker’s Case Classics so can’t even speculate about that. Someone more familiar with those may know.

I would agree with all comments made about that "style" of original Case Tested XX stamp. The specific stamp in the specific picture referenced in the original post does not look factory original to me. To my eye, the size is off, spacing is off, the "C" is off, position on the tang is off.

Stamp on the OP knife is a modern one - may be an actual Case stamp from the recent "Tang Stamp" series?

These are the itemized patterns I have seen this style of stamp used on. The observation is that this tamp was used on patterns where the tang was wide enough to hold the stamp.

050 Coke Bottle
050L Coke Bottle lock back
