That's a serious looking piece of cutlery your father had. I don't know anything about that brand but maybe somebody else here can tell you more about it. IMO, the important thing about it is the memories you connect with it being your fathers.

Welcome Reddevil, very nice example of Japanese quality from that time. Master Seizo Imai is the most likely maker of that knife in Japan.

Thanks for the welcomes. I dont know much about where it came from. He was big into diving not sure if this was used with that in mind. I do know they make diving knives with metal on the end to hit on the tank.

That looks like a dive knife to me. Some are made of just stainless steel. But most of them are made with materials that will stand up to sea water.
Looks like a nice knife and not used. Probably from the 80’s or more likely 90’s. Master Imai died in 2014. He was very talented and made a lot of knives for various companies. Known mostly for the knives he produced for Parker, which were lower quality. His signature knives that he made are well made and have fine craftsmanship to them. I own a few of those they are the pride of my collection. Hope this helps.

It does thanks for the info. My dad pasted away 24 years ago so very possible it was bought in the 90s. Thanks again

To me it looks like one of Fury's many "survival" knives. The saw teeth on yours are the same as the two varieties below.

Serrations on a dive knife make sense, but saw teeth, not so much. You're not going to be sawing much wood underwater .


The first one below also has the same type of chisel tang sticking out the back of the handle as yours.
