Hi all,
here are two straight jacks I just finished. Both in Stainless 14C28n. One in double red micarta the other in some sort of basic carbon fiber. I have been playing with my maker's mark and branding. Currently leaning towards just my last name AMANNA with Utica NY underneath.
Currently, I am not selling and focused on developing a better, repeatable process. I've got 3 prototype patterns I'm working on all based on a straight jack frame. There will be 3 different blade shapes: clip, spear, and sheepsfoot. Simple materials, micartas, carbon fiber, maybe some jigged bone.
Any comments, suggestions welcome.
Regards,
Ashwin

Very nice knives!
Like the new tang stamps . The stamp on the black Jack knife looks the best and most professional to me .

Beautiful! I like threaded bolsters, but the lines look very thin. Are they machined on, or laser-etched? I am only asking because normally they were deeper and wider on old knives.
I am not criticizing your work, only asking for clarity. You do a great job at mixing classic old styles with modern materials and precision, and I love seeing your work!

And Mike Moran told me the same thing to make them wider. So great minds think a like. Ironically, these were wider then my last ones, so I'll make them even wider next time.
One thing I need to figure out is when in the process flow to do the threading using laser. If you look real hard the lines are curved up slightly. I think that is because I did it after the bolsters were already rounded.
Next one I am going to do it prior to shaping the bolster and widen them.
