Help to identify

Post by Dimi »

Hello.
I bought this interesting knife. There are no marks. Knife with blade, saw, glass cutter, 6 cm ruler, 6 kg scale. I would be very grateful for information.
Always with respect, Dmitry Kruk

Sorry I can't tell you much about it, but did find this similar knife on Worthpoint. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ ... 1850319893.

For posterity after the link expires, the description says “This auction is for a very rare antique WW1 era GESETZLICH GESCHUTZT German Survival Hunting pocket knife. Measures approx. 6-3/4" when open. It has 3 blades, a working fish scale (which measures in kilograms, and a glass cutter. The main blade has a 3" blade and is stamped "WARR. CASISTEEL EL&B HAMBURG SOLINGEN". The other blade is a saw and it measures approx. 3-1/4" long. The small blade measures approx. 1-7/8" long.”

As far as I can tell it was only stamped on the master blade (not tang stamped). It is also marked Gesetzlich Geschtutzt, which is German and translates loosely to mean patent protected.

Looks like maybe 100 years old. Makes me wonder what folks 100 years from now might think of our modern day multi-tool knives like SAK, Leatherman, etc? ::shrug:: Like "what were they thinking?"
