Case XX Trapper

Post by New to this »

I have a Case XX Trapper smooth black delrin with an engraved gold stallion. Model 2254SS made in 2023. There’s another number on the box, CA6447 WM. Can anyone tell me what this second code means and how many were made?

A picture of the knife, its box and label would help. How to post pictures can be found here https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... m.php?f=98

I suspect the other number is a SKU, or item number. A picture could confirm. Case makes the 54 Trapper by the millions, in different handle covers, shields, blade and bolster embellishments, different “commemorative” packaging, etc. When you make so many different versions of any item you have to assign a unique number to each version, for inventory and other purposes. To most collectors it has no meaning or value. To find out how many of any particular version were made you will likely have to ask Case www.caseknives.com. They may, or may not know, unless it was a SFO or special run.
