Walden Knife Co small pen fresh find

Walden Knife Co 2.75" 2 blade pen. Found this knife at a roadside junk shop in Colorado. It has some light stain writing on the blade that I couldn't figure out. I am sure tons of these were made but how many survived. Is it a rare find? Not sure if it's ebony or cocobolo. Nice tight fit and snap. Wow, what a sweet little find! Looks to have a salesman's sample number on the back of the master blade. 1874-1923 manufacture. Handles look like ebony wood. It would be hard to find a nicer example.

I 2nd what Wayne said,salesman sample.Don't try to clean the numbers off the back.Dandy little knife in plus condition.
