Info needed- Kabar with no model numbers

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Info needed- Kabar with no model numbers

Post by Buckeye_Buck_Guy »

Hi, I have two pocket knife’s I acquired from my grandfather. Both Kabars but they do not have the USA or model number on the tang. Just curious why these don’t have the same stamping at the others from his collection. I’m planning on building on his collection and would like to know more as I start to add to it. See pics for details. Thanks for any information!

They did not put model numbers on blades on Kabars until 1968-69. Your knife has delrin handles which didn't happen until the early 1960s so your knife was made between those times.
