Does anybody recognize this knife?
"Magnum" and "440 Stainless". Right after I got this knife I searched the internet for it, looked at tons of photos, but could not find one just like it, not any with the same stamping. I think one company used the word "Magnum", but they didn't have any photos showing a knife just like this. I think I found one that looked similar, but with some difference, and some other name or word, or words, on it. I don't know if it was made in the US. Maybe by a small time maker. I could have been made in some other country. I'm posting this here in case somebody might know something about it. Somebody suggested that I try here. It is 8 inches open.
Re: Does anybody recognize this knife?
Boker used the Magnum name on some Chinese made knives. The Boker Magnum were reasomability well made knives, though I have not personally seen that pattern before.

Does the engraving look stamped in? Or hand done?
Don’t overlook the possibility the engraving was done after the knife was made.
Are those ducks etched on the blade?
To me it looks like possibly a cheap knife that was embellished.

It has the look of a C Julius Herbertz knife. Try googling Herbertz knives and scroll through the images results.
I don’t want to state this as gospel, but I believe Herbertz is a German mfg firm that eventually also sourced from Seki and then later China as well.

Re: Does anybody recognize this knife?
Thanks to all for the comments. I think the stamping, or engraving, was done by the maker, and not later, but I can't be sure. I looked up Herbetz Knives, and saw some with similar features, the metal on the ends of the handle. I saw some Boker knives, and some with the Magnum name. Some of them look similar. I found that a couple years ago during my first search of this knife. The Boker "Magnum" knives have the letter "M" in front of the name "Magnum". My knife does not have that "M". Those are ducks engraved on the blade.
That Herbetz knife in the photo looks very much like mine, except for the engraving on the blade shank, and the badge on the handle, and the bolsters. I think that is what they are called, the metal trip pieces on the ends. Those are a little different. I didn't know about Herbetz Knives. I just looked into Black Swan Antiquities, but couldn't look at items. Their photo gallery is about useless; won't load, mostly blank squares, probably store scenes anyway. I don't know how "Froe" found that knife photo.
I just took a closer look at the words on the blade, using a 10x loupe, and I think they were stamped. I made another photo of the knife. Here is a close-up of the stamped words, cropped from a whole knife photo:
