Back to say hello and check thins out

Post by gino »

I haven’t been on in a year
Lot of things in my life happened

My daughter who fought cancer for 4 years passed end of July and it destroyed me

Just wanted to say hello to my old friends here and to members I’ve never met

I have very much enjoyed looking around the threads at all the posts

Hope everyone had a nice holiday and you’re all doing well

Oh Gino your loss is formidable, I’m heartbroken for you and your family. We grow up believing in a natural order of things and losing a child goes against those beliefs in the worst manner. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort. Cancer sucks …….

Glad to hear from you again, Gino!
My condolences on the passing of your daughter.
I have been there for my brother twice as he has lost children, yet I still cannot imagine the depth of the hurt.
He has told me that it is difficult to see other people move on with their lives, when it seems as though yours stops completely.
But you do begin to live again, to experience joy and laughter. It takes a while, but one day even holidays become happy again. Always different, but happy.
You are in my prayers.
Jesus is life.

Gino: After reading your post, l considered not replying as it brought back too many memories. But then l decided to do so to let you k
now you are not alone and you will survive and be a better person as well.
Forty one years ago on Mothers Day, we lost our twins Rebecca & Daniel at birth. We were devastated. We could not envision going on. But God apparently had a plan for us because we wound up becoming foster parents and having nearly 200 children pass through our home in over 15 years. We were even able to adopt 2 of them. Sadly one of them passed away 3 years ago; the victim of a drug overdose. We are still working through that.
I guess what l'm trying to say my friend is that the hurt lessens but never goes away. I try to remember the good times and what it would have been like with the twins. Hang in there my friend and hold your loved ones close and often!

Gino, I don't know how long it takes the hurt to go away (maybe it never completely goes away) but, over time, it does abate. Good to see you back. Keep hangin' Bro.

The loss of a child is rightcat the top of things that cause the most severe emotional distress in one’s life.

It just doesn’t seem right to us that we should outlive one of our children.

I cannot even comprehend what you’re going through.

Welcome back to AAPK. Stick around.

Prayers for you and your family.
