You certainly know how to make a wonderful first post. I know nothing of the ancestry of your knife except to say it is a looker! Sweet bones.

The original liner lock patent, July 6 1906 by Watson & Chadwick for Cattaraugus Cutlery Co.
Levine's Guide 4th Edition page 507.
Maybe Union got permission to use the patent?

Union Knife Works of Union, NY was a Platts company. The knife shown worries me, it doesn't seem to have any top grinds (swedges to some) that old knives usually have. It is also a brand that was faked by Parker and the Parker ones I have seen had the arched stamp whereas the few I have owned were like Joe's example with a straight line stamp. It does have the Catt liner lock which is curious too.

Thank you all so much for the info. The rabbit holes of knife collecting seem to go on and on. It’s funny how we can lose information over just a hundred years or so. Again, thanks for the help.
