Korium knife? knock off / real?

Good morning everyone. Just looking to "maybe" see if anyone could shed any light on this knife. My grandfather used it for hunting back in the 70's and 80's. The only thing that's really throwing me off compared to the only other knife i can find online (so far) is a Korium knife.

The baffling part is that it has MM-7-73 stamped above Japan instead of Korium. I know some Korium knives were made in Japan and Germany, but have not found "MM-7-73" on anything online so far.

Front blade: An image of a Buck in the woods with six 0's (zeros) at the base of the image. Then MM-7-73 with Japan stamped below.

Back blade: Entirely blank

Handle: Solid cast - steel with an eagle head pommel. Appears to have two rivets holding two separate fiberglass or plastic grips.
