Cowboy knives by Case

Post by tvic »

I have a Red Ryder Case knife and a Roy Rogers/Dale Evans Case knife. I know there’s a whole bunch of cowboy knives out there by The Novelty Knife Company, Hammer Brand, etc., but has anyone seen any other cowboy knives from Case?

Depending on your definition of "cowboy knife" there are lots. Go to Google and type in Case Cowboy Knife and then click on images. I would imagine there's even a Dallas Cowboys knife somewhere in the bunch.

This probably isn't the type of cowboy knife you have in mind, but this 2008 Case Russlock has a cowboy theme (my all-time favorite shield and my all-time favorite blade etch both on the same knife...which, unfortunately, is not my all-time favorite Case knife ::dang:: )

Yep, thanks, guys. Should have been clearer. I meant knives related to cowboy film stars like Gene Autry, Johnny Mack Brown, Hopalong Cassidy, Wild Bill Elliott, etc. These guys are featured on the novelty knives, but haven’t seen anything by Case knives.

I’ve seen Case trappers with laser engraved bone covers depicting images of Roy Rogers, Roy and Dale, and letters saying “Red Ryder”. If you’re looking for something like Camillus, Imperial and some others made with clear plastic over a picture or cartoon image, I’ve not seen anything similar to that from Case. ::shrug:: Maybe pictures of what you have would help clarify your request.

Here's another take on Cowboy knives by Case:
Most of the knives I saw when I was a young feller growing up in Central Florida (old Florida) that were carried by cowboys aka cowhunters were made by Case. Every now and then someone would have a Queen or Treebrand.
These were real cowboys, marking ears, cutting bull calves and spreading mayonnaise at dinner with the same knife. Lots of those Cowboy Case knives were 6375s.
Like I said, a different take on Case cowboy knives. :)
