Small 4-blade pearl handles knife with bale

Post by raincrowe »

I would like to feature a small near mint 4-bladed knife... 2-3/4 inches including the bale..I don't know if I should label this a watch fob or gentlemans knife.. The knife has 4 blades a file, small blade, larger one and scissors....this knife is extremely well-made milled liners... the most unusual thing about the is the stamp EDEA CECHO and the third line I can't quite make out.. looks like -----MIA .. But I don't know Will need help on this one! ::tu::

Any chance it's CZECHO SLOVAKIA? I don't see where the "Z" in the first part would fit, but that's the closest I can come.

I have one like it. The mark is "EDER", a German company who made knives in "Cecho-Slovak",(their spelling) too. Mine is a ten blade. Good luck with it. J.O'.

I originally thought that the knife was made by a Czech-Slovakia knife company... but the spelling was different therefore leaving doubt..
After seeing the "EDER" Cecho-Slovak knife I re-examined the knife again and the letter A could possibly be an R...the stamp on the knife looks right...
Does anyone have more information on this knife company; what years..ect
It's obvious these knives are very well-made and a quality product
I would like to thank both entries for your imput and look forward to hearing more ::tu::

I've been trying to get a sharper image of the stamp but it's crude compared to the quality of the knife
hope this helps!!

Gentlemen, Scroll down to the "European-made knives" forum and search: Eder. Some of us had an extended conversation about Eder knives with little results. Only that a knife marked "Checo-Slovak" had to be made later than 1918 as the country was "organized" by treaty after WW1. Good luck. O'.
