1946-50 & 1946-56 Tang stamps

Does anyone know why or have any guesses as to why Camillus used 2 different tang stamps from 1946-50? I have used the search function and tried several different ways, but don’t see this addressed anywhere, that doesn’t mean I just wasn’t smart enough to find it. Thanks as always for any input.

My guess is because the tooling was on hand and they believed the difference in the stamps would not affect sales.

I can't explain why but the no line was used for a very short period. I have read that it was used as early as 45 and as late as 55 . Most I have talked to about it think it was used only the first year of production after the war. But Camillus always used up what they had stamped so who knows. I love to find the old no line stamps. But just my opinion. It really needs to be included in the Camillus reference section.

This would make sense. I have read in some books that the no line may actually have been in use at the very end of WW2 but still during the war. This doesn’t make much sense going by the tang stamp chart dates considering the war was over in 1945. I very much appreciate your help, thank you. At least now I don’t feel like I asked a stupid question that everyone else already knew the answer to.
