Chris Reeves ?
Just wondering if the year a Chris Reeves knife makes a difference in it's value or not.

Re: Chris Reeves ?
It probably does with Chris Reeve collectors, and hang on to that certificate and box.
Very cool.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

If he collected many knives, this is one I would keep to remember him by. That signed by the maker certificate could be extremely rare.

Am I correct that Chris Reeves is no longer associated with CRK?

Re: Chris Reeves ?
I worked part-time for one of Chris Reeve's authorized dealers last year and in monthly calls with the dealer network, Chris, Anne, and Timothy Reeve were always present with Chris large and in charge. They are a small company (less than 50 employees) and run it like a family business. I'm curious where you got your information from.UtherPending wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 9:58 amAm I correct that Chris Reeves is no longer associated with CRK?

To be honest I could have misread something. Maybe a flaw in my memory. It is not all that important to me. I like their knives look. But not my thing.

Re: Chris Reeves ?
all good - I too love their knives but not their price nor the 4 years wait to get the knife I'd want now (Impinda with glass blasted handle finish)UtherPending wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 1:32 pm To be honest I could have misread something. I don’t follow the CRK brand but I also read something awhile back that gave me the impression that Chris wasn’t with the company anymore.UtherPending wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 1:32 pm To be honest I could have misread something. I found the post on another forum that gave that impression but it’s from 2018 and I won’t post it here. A lot could have changed since then.

If that other forum was BF I think that was where I heard it. And maybe something about divorce. Again I may be mistaken. As much as I like pocket knives I do not let that eat up too much bandwidth.

Re: Chris Reeves ?
An article in the February, 2017 issue of Knife Magazine written by Stephen Garger quotes Anne Reeve, "...there have been several changes in personnel since Chris retired;" As a result of that article, I've thought Mr Reeve has been retired for years.

Re: Chris Reeves ?
One could always join the US Army, manage to eventually get into and successfully complete Special Forces Assessment and Selection and upon graduation receive a free serially numbered Chris Reeves sheath knife, as that is now one of the perks for having done that.
Not the case in 1968, but I do have the authorization' to order one from The JFK Special Warfare Center and School, but it wouldn’t be free and it isn’t cheap.
