my new CobraTec otf defective

Post by robpa »

picked up a new CobraTec OTF a couple weeks ago, I really liked it and made it my ne EDC knife. Didnt use it more than 25 times for mostly light work. Took it out of my pocket the other day and it no workee! Blade is looseinside , wont eject nor close. so, emailed em and they said send it in so thats what i did. I am hopeful it lasts longer upon return. Anybody else have any problems with the brand. It appears they are assembled in USA with foreign(CHINA) parts??

They seem like junk to me.
I talked with a dealer, he said they were assembled in TX from China parts.

I have found that the OTFs can come "out of track" sometimes and usually a swift shake downward so the blade shoots out will get them back on track. 😉
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I'm not a fan of OTF even the best have blade play and other issues
I own 1 CorbraTec the Diablo auto out the side it's a solid knife for the money
knock on wood so far so good
CobraTec has a good warranty hopefully you will have no issues when it returns

I've seen other OTF knives with similar problems, and the owner(s) would give them a good flick, like you trying flick the blade open. The worked after that.
