China "Uncle Henry" Brand Pocket Knives.

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

Recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my FIRST example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it did get added to my general, "foreign born" pocket knife accumulation. There is NO country of origin stamped or marked anywhere on this pocket knife. It is a CHINA (unmarked), "Uncle Henry", two blades, two tang stamps, 2 7/8" closed, two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "Uncle Henry (written) (over) SCHRADE" The main blade back tang stamp says, "1105625" The shield says "Uncle Henry" (written). The main blade has a SOFT half stop. But, the main blade does have a GOOD opening snap and the main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade also has a SOFT half stop. But, the secondary blade does have a GOOD opening snap and the secondary blade does have a GOOD closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did NOT require any cleaning at all.
I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Advantage over pre-2004 Uncle Henry/Schrade: NO SWINDEN KEYS!
The blade steel (7CR17MoV excluding the Imperial branded knives) has a good heat treat, and on my offshore Schrade brands hold an edge just as well as the USA made knives.
They will also take and hold the 10 degree (+/- 1.5 - 2 degrees freehand) per side (20 degree inclusive) edge I was learned to put on a knife 65 years ago, by 4 (four) generations of knife users, just as well as the USA made knives.
