Marbles Seki Japan knife

I’ve had this knife for quite a few years now. I’m more familiar with the modern Marbles knives made in China. I probably have lead a sheltered life but this is the only Japan made knife I have run across. Any one have info or history on this one?

I have a Marble's marked knife in the same green box. I just searched eBay for Tak Fukuta knife, scrolled down quite a way and found examples of both of our knives. The seller dated them as 1998.

[Modern Slip Joints]

Some Pearl and stag Marbles 4 1/4" (closed) Stockmans in two piece green boxes are stamped Germany. However, there are differences in their handle and blade shapes. I have not seen any packing slips with them printed Parker but they are commonly attributed to Parker.

There are also pearl C. Platts & Sons Whittlers that are stamped Germany that are attributed to Parker.

Are you sure your Stockman was made in Japan?

Tang stamped on back side of main blade SEKI-JAPAN. Appears to be a well made knife.

Yes that knife in the OP was made in Japan. Not sure if Master Fukuta made these or not, his name appears on the boxes of the lockback that he made and not on these. Perhaps he didn’t design this one like he did the lockback. Chances are they were made in the same place in Seki Japan.
Parker did own the brand at the time or rather Tennessee Valley owned it, which was a part of the Jim Parker operation. The German made Marbles are really fine knives and were made in the same Olbertz plant as Bulldogs. They really are just Bulldogs without the Bulldog etching.

The box shown in the OP, the boxes pictured on eBay, and the box I own clearly state, "Bench Made by Tak Fukuta". Judging from the evidence brought to light in this thread, the knives were made by Tak Fukuta and sold by Parker.
