Newbie with some oldies (CASE XX) from a hardware store long ago
I'm the Newbie. Just found this site upon reading reviews. I have some CASE XX knives from an ACE HARDWARE store of long ago. I'm currently looking for fair asking prices and plan to list soon for sale. I've found most of the folding knives but am having trouble with the fixed blade hunting knives (Both leather and stag), a CASE XX 77F SS stainless scaler, and a CASE'S XX TESTED Hatchet. Any help is welcome. Below is a list of the folding knives, hunters, and misc. These came from a couple display boards and never sold, carried, used, or sharpened. Spend most of the time under a bed or in a shoe box.

Re: Newbie with some oldies (CASE XX) from a hardware store long ago

You've come to the right place; plenty of Case collectors around here who will be interested in the knives you have listed.
You are likely to get more response if you would post some photos of the knives. Even small groups of knives would be helpful to get things started. Once people see the knives, they can identify particular ones to request more photos/information and make offers.

Photos, please. It isn't necessary to photograph each knife individually but a few group photos will help tremendously.
The knives sound very interesting and welcome to the forum.

Re: Newbie with some oldies (CASE XX) from a hardware store long ago
Hey again, as one member who has been a great help pointed out, non of these are perfect mints. They have never been carried, used, or sharpened but show near mint to excellent for very light handling and never been cleaned. These were stored for many years under an elderly couples bed wrapped in newspaper in a shoe box. Unfortunately I am not a photographer and have not fritzzed any of them. I will be selling these as soon as I can determine a fair price. Is it better to list for sale in the forum or try to get a store? I am thinking about splitting the folders up into lots of 3-5 to simplify the transaction. ( and it cuts out any cherry picking ) If they don't sell, then I've still got a spot under the bed till I move up to them mountains. Is there a member who does a cleaning a preserving service?
So there are some of the good-bad-ugly pictures that don't describer the real things.....

Re: Newbie with some oldies (CASE XX) from a hardware store long ago

AAPK offers 2 opportunities for selling knives through our site; an e-commerce storefront and direct forum sales.
Here's a link to the AAPK Member Store Program https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... ng_started which gives you access to a massive audience of highly targeted customers.
If your sales intentions are strictly related to your Ace Hardware inventory depicted in this thread then setting up an e-commerce platform may not be optimal for you which is why AAPK provides the opportunity to sell knives in a topic called Knives For Sale Or Trade viewforum.php?f=31.
To sell knives in our forums however, you'll need one of our premium subscriptions which can be found here: https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... scriptions. Our Bronze tier subscription ($20/year) allows 20 items/year to be sold on the knife forums, Silver tier subscription ($30/year) allows 50 items/year to be sold on the knife forums and the Gold tier subscription ($40/year) allows an unlimited number of items to be sold on the knife forums.
Hope this helps and best of luck with rehoming your Case knives.

Lastly, is it just the knives and sheaths or are there individual boxes and a display case?

Hi Tom,
Thank you for the seller information. I have a silver membership and I'm only interested in selling the knives listed at this time. Therefor, as you said, the forum will probably be my best choice. The knives are not mounted on the large display boards anymore and I no longer have the boxes and sheaths except for what is noted. Wish I did. 100% hindsight. Ant suggestions on best way to handle the sales from the forum? Thanks again, ><>Scott Mattson

Re: Newbie with some oldies (CASE XX) from a hardware store long ago
I apologize for taking so long. Got a light box from amazon to take pictures and pulling my hair out for pricing.
Several knives are on hold and will not be listed for a few days. (these are members who reached out immediately)
Again, these are all excellent to near mint. They have never been used, carried, or sharpened. Free priority shipping with tracking and insurance. I do not have a store as once these are gone, they are gone. I will only accept USPS money orders and knives will not ship before payment. First come, first serve. No Trades. I only check in twice a a day so bear with me. If you are first in line, I will let you know where to send payment. I will also keep others in line if you back out. Did I leave anything out?
OPEN THE CASE... CASE XX 4100 STAINLESS $275
CASE XX 6143 $125
CASE XX 61048 $85
C61050SAB $400
Will be adding more this evening.

Good evening,
UPDATE:
The 5375 stag and 61048 are pending. Please do not inquire about these.
I did hear back from another member who is going to pass on the 53047 STAG and I am listing it for sale.

Re: Newbie with some oldies (CASE XX) from a hardware store long ago
I have hopefully moved everything over to NEWBIE UPDATE and cleaned up alot of the tread and pictures with prices.
I am also trying to respond same day/next day to inquiries.
Even got a cheap light box from amazon for better pictures. (Still no expert)
Almost everything is listed with a few exceptions of the leather handled hunting knives, a few odds and ends folders, and a hatchet / knife combo set.
Knives sold as-is and first come / first serve. I have tried to display and describe each one as best as possible. The are all excellent to near mint and need a good home and bath.
The free used give-away's, free parts knives or free odds and ends are just that. All I ask is that you pay for the postage.
Free priority shipping with insurance and tracking with purchase.
Most of the Hunters do not come with sheaths unless described. The Axe combo and the stag B & T? does come with sheath.
I can only accept payment by USPS money order.
Thank you everyone who has reached out with some great advice.
Check out NEWBIE UPDATE for more information.
