Another knife manufacturer

I found this knife, stating that it was made in the USA. I know SMKW started making knives in China around 2020, but the seller said that in 2023, part of their knives are started being made in the USA again. Does anyone have an idea what knife company makes these knives?

Not sure about that one, as I'm half certain that's one of the Queens that's really a rebranded Rough Ryder.

However, I think a mix of Utica and Bear and Son are making the current ones.

Smokey Mountain Knife Works purchased Queen Cutlery’s (and associated, such as Queen, Queen City, etc) trademarks at the Queen bankruptcy sale. They are being secretive about the USA maker.

The nail nicks on the OP knife look like Rough Rider. Those I’ve seen on the “new” U.S.A. made “Queen” knives have standard nail nicks, not match-striker style.

That one is China made there are some sellers on ebay asking big money for these trying to fool unsuspecting folks, beware . Go to the SMKW knife site and look at the prices of the knives you'll figure out which is which.

A fellow named Gilbert Cooper from Winchester Ohio purchased the trademarks at the Queen auction.He sold or licensed the Queen trademark to Smokey.
Cooper has several different trademarks, Weed & Co.,Battle Axe,Schatt & Morgan etc.

Before I posted that I searched the U.S. government trademark site and found Smokey Mountain Knife Works registered as the owner of Queen, Queen City, names and the Queen symbol.

Thanks Roger. After seeing your post I looked again. I didn’t search down the list far enough - down toward the bottom I find the Queen name registered also to Gilbert Cooper.

The differences may be in the types of “Goods and Services” listed for each.

Yes,but Cooper sold them to Smokey after he bought them at the auction.
