Shapleigh diamond edge salesman samples
Back in the day, I searched these out, sniffed out at the old hardware store, second owner was a salesman for shapleigh I finally got lucky and never split the collection 14 salesman samples. I’m gonna flip them over and take some pictures all ink marks on back. Also 3 other salesman samples. Bi rogers tobacco Congress. Remington small scout and a pearl I X L. Cattle. I just getting out a few. Funny there is no shapleigh section. Just took pictures of the back sides

Great looking knives. There are numerous threads here about Shapleigh. You can find them easily by using the “search”capability. I suspect there’s no dedicated section for Shapleigh because they weren’t a manufacturer.
Shapleigh contracted with Empire, Camillus, and Schrade to make knives for them.
It would be interesting (to me anyway) to know how Shapleigh’s sales and distribution channel worked. Some cutleries relied on catalogs and others on traveling salespeople. Shapleigh being a hardware wholesaler, seems to have had both.

Thanks for looking, have not got them out in a while. The Russel Barlow and the white handle shapleigh Barlow both have broken back spring. Be it was some sales comparison. The Russel is full crocus polish mint except for backspring. Gonna post some pics of others. Got a standard knife co little valley folding hunter mint on case forum next
