Couple Quick ones recently

Post by Rossr »

Made a couple of really quick sheaths up for a customer. One was for a old Marbles fixed blade. Sometimes utilitarian is best!

Great work on both sheaths!
They look sturdy, and favor some of the old original knife sheaths that I have.
I have done a few with multiple rivets, similar to yours on the left, and some with only one, like yours on the right.
I even did one with no rivets, though I know that the rivets last longer than the laces. I think it is fun to change things up on different projects.
You are good at leatherwork!

Thanks for the kind words! I am not a big fan of the rivets cause if the blade hits them it dulls it. That said I was copying the original sheath for that knife. It had rivets and no welt. I suspect they were done that way cause it was quick and that particular knife was not a high end event. Still a pleasure to make it and preserve some history! I agree though mixing it up is nice!
