TL-29 Question
I have a real soft spot for the TL-29. But I have a question on this one. Supposed to be a Kabar but the TL-29 isn’t stamped straight. It almost looks like each letter & number was stamped individually. I’m not getting this knife, I was just curious what others thought of the markings.

Re: TL-29 Question
Most all of the Kabar 1148's I've seen had plain handles. On the few I've seen with the TL-29 stamps the letters and numbers were larger and closer together. I think it's very possible someone banged those in but I could be wrong. Normally it's a single stamp so everything should be more aligned.

Re: TL-29 Question
Eric, think you are correct about the stamp. Here’s a few pics from Mr. Silveys book and it shows Ka bar using the bigger letter stamp. His pic is dark but you can clearly see the TL. and make out the 29 next to it. No - between them . The pics of the Camillus show the smaller letters . All the Military Speced TL I have with the stamped wood ,not the shields , are nice and neat and evenly spaced .ea42 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 4:21 pm Most all of the Kabar 1148's I've seen had plain handles. Also wondering about the screwdriver/ stripper tool . That looks like a radio tool , or maybe am way off base but never seen a Military WW2 era TL 29 with that type stripper set up . Or maybe unique to Ka bar ?

Re: TL-29 Question
I agree with Eric, letters in the handle were stamped in after knife left factory by someone who thought they'd get more for the knife.
