In a book about Collins machetes and tools they say the model 18 with the black handles was made until 1955 so there are many out there that weren't WW2 knives.

Thanks. As nice as this one is, it certainly does not appear to have seen active duty. The guy I bought the knife from is looking for the original sheath he stored in a safe place. Hope he finds it, but I have put stuff in places so safe I have never seen it again.

The sheath I have now is for a Western W-49. The guy I got it from is looking for the original Collins sheath. He knows he has it just not sure where he put it. The plan is to swap sheaths if and when he finds the right one.

One of my buddies hid his 38 snubnose before he went on vacation. A couple months later he thought about the gun but couldn't remember where he stashed it! He looked for it for years but never did find it. He eventually sold the house and the gun was still there, somewhere.Rockingkj wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 2:21 amThanks.
