Question about Schrade-Wostenholm

I recently acquired this Schrade Wostenhold stockman. The blade etch is long gone. All three blade tangs are stamped with the letter "T" There is no other identification on the tangs. The bolster stamp is the only identification. Does anyone know why the tangs only have a letter 'T" and why there is no other data on the tang? I just have very limited knowlege about these knives. I looked at the previous AAPK threads about Schrade-Wostenholm knives but there is no information about the tang stamps. Any information would be very helpful.

Those blades do not look original to that knife. At least to me, anyways. the nail nicks look cut with a dremel wheel or similar

I agree, Glenn. And it almost looks like you can see where the rest of the stamp (other than the T)was ground off. The stamps on the bolster do look like Schrade-Wostenholm.

Here is a slightly enhanced version of a photo which seems to show grind marks stopping just short of the T.

I agree about the blades. The nail pulls don't look right. The blades are extremely tight and very sharp. Clearly, the tangs have been ground leaving only a "T" on each blade. I wish I had a model of the same knife to compare the blades. I would like to know the correct tang stamp for that knife. Also, i don't think those scales are bone. I reattched the chip and it didn't look like bone. Most likely only the frame and bolsters are correct.

Here's also a thread on our very own AAPK site that I searched for, it talks about the series. Your covers are bone, IMO, and according to the ad sheets.

I’ve only one Schrade Wostenholm and the nail niks and the stamps are much different

Thanks for the photos and the link! It clearly shows my knife has replacement blades. The scales and bolsters are good but someone put in 3 replacement blades. I have to say, the replacement blades have great snap, tight lockup, and no blade play at all! Also, they are razor sharp. However, the nail pulls look like they were cut in. I'm going to sell the knife on eBay stating it has replacement blades. Thanks for all the help!
