An Very Unusual Blue Wire Jack

I picked up this early Wire Jack. It has the Wire Jack stamp, Gold Metal Cracker blade etching, and the 9/21/26 patent date. The frame and insert are blue. I have never seen a painted frame and I have never seen the color blue on a Wire Jack.. The Glen Davis collection photos have red, green, yellow, and plain. However, only the inserts are painted and never the frame. At first I thought someone had just done a hobby paint job on the knife. However, it's clear that this knife was painted at the factory. Any information about this unusual wire jack was would be appreciated

I don't believe that the blue paint was done in the factory.
Gold Medal's color is gold/yellow. Why would they advertise with blue?
Every Gold Medal wire jack pocket knife I've ever seen, has a yellow insert only.
The red and green inserts, if present, are "usually" associated with Scouting mess, utensil kit, wire jack pocket knives.

I agree Skip. I've never seen a Wire Jack that was not yellow, red, or green. Also, I've never seen the frame painted. I think your Gold Medal with yellow insert is conclusive. The blue paint job is professional. It appears to be air brushed. I plan to remove the blue paint and restore the knife to original form and color. Thank you so much for the information!

paint it and put the insert back into the handle,

I've got one with matching blue paint, hawk bill blade, and advertising logo on the blade. Paint was also on the frame of mine.
Perhaps they did their advertising versions in blue.

Well that's interesting! Your model has the exact same blue as my Gold Medal Cracker Advertising model. Of course, I cleaned off the blue paint and painted the insert yellow exactly like the one Skip posted. I have the before and after photos. It would appear that there are Wire Jack's that are painted blue including the frame. I have to admit I've seen hundreds of Wire Jacks but the blue ones are a first for me.
