I don't think anyone would counterfeit that style of knife, no money in it.
However, it looks to be a nice utility knife. 
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I doubt someone would fake this pattern.Too new, too common, and too cheap.
My modern civilian variant came wiin a Joseph Rodgers box, and similarly, has no blade markings. I suspect that the "J" stamped on the blade is shorthand for Joseph Rodgers.

Possibly, but I think it predates what I am thinking about. A company called Shelham imported them from Japan for the Australian Army during the '80s and '90s, and like their British cousins, they were dated.
